MOKE 2XS   Engine mods

A lot to list here. But note that the cylinder head was profesionally rebuilt including hardened valves, seats
and guides to facilitate the use of lead free fuel.

The crankshaft was reground and balanced, then balanced with the lightened flywheel on, then balanced yet
again with the clutch installed.

New rings fitted on the Omega pistons.

Of course, things like clutch plate, water pump, oil pump, timing chain etc. were replaced with new parts.

The cam is fairly high profile and high-lift (1.5) rockers are installed.

Because the torque is enormous, the engine is installed with 4 engine steadies.

Complete strip down and re-build of engine.

Lightened clutch plate.

Lightened flywheel.

Duplex timing chain damper fitted

Takes the flap out of the slack side of chain

Sandblasted all the muck off the clutch cover and onto my face!

Engine re-assembled with some alterations.  Throttle bodies would be painted yellow (of course).  Note fuel pump has gone.

Look - no distributor!

looking spiffy!

1/2" pipes from crankcase will go to an oil catch can and breather

Engine in. Construction of cool air plenum

Wiring is almost complete here.

Oil cap holds plenum on firmly.  Note air filter.

Plenum completed.  But comes apart with five screws.

Almost everything in there now. Note the cool ram-air intake on front of plenum

Note the large oil catch-can/breather (with silver top).   Wires are all tidied up and almost invisible.  Engine is all finally done!
