MOKE 2XS Transmission
The big change here
was from a final drive ratio of 4.1 to 3.4 which was done to improve
the
high speed end of the range. Remember, this vehicle has 14" wheels so the change
was only made
feasible because of the large power output of the engine.
Windage plate between engine and gearbox greatly reduces oil spray, oil
consumption, and oil out the breather.
Here with crownwheel and bearings.. Final drive ratio is now 3.44:1 -
perfect for the 14"wheels.
This differwential ws later replaced with a 4-pin one.
This sprung plate was added so the gear lever rests in the in 3rd - 4th gear
position.
It makes a huge improvement in the ease of changing gear.
The changer box was moved rearwards and longer 'rods' used.
A quick shift gear lever was also
fitted.
Gear lever throw is now only a couple of inches.
And a console/glove box to finish it off.
